Uttam Nagar-Largest Potters Colony
Our journey began in the lanes of Kumhar colony in Uttam Nagar, the largest potters hub, providing shelter to over 600+ families. During our surveys, we understood the problems of middlemen exploitation, outdated designs and lack of technical knowledge that the artisans were facing.
In the new technologically advanced marketing world, most of the artisans were struggling with a lack of demand and recognition. This made us come up with Rivaayat, an initiative by CDF SRCC to revive such art forms that need our help and make the artisans sustainable.

OUR WAY FORWARD
Taking the legacy forward, Rivaayat has now ventured to revive the artform of water hyacinth basketry. Water hyacinth is the worst aquatic weeds and its use in basketry not only helps in saving the environment but provides employment to numerous people. Rivaayat employs over 30 women in the area and further aims to revive the artform. However, Rivaayat does not aim to stop here, they aim for reviving any artform that comes their way!
